Understand the Eligibility Requirements

Before diving into the submission process, it’s crucial to familiarize yourself with the eligibility requirements set by the body. To be considered for a celestial music award nomination, you must meet certain criteria:

  • Release Date: Your music must have been released within the specified eligibility period. For example, for the 2024 CMA Awards, the release date must fall between September 1, 2023, and July 30, 2024.
  • Length: The length of your submission varies depending on the category. For albums, it should contain at least five different tracks with a total playing time of 15 minutes or a total playing time of 30 minutes with no minimum track amount. Singles have no specific length requirements.
  • Format: Your music must be available for sale or listening, in physical or digital formats through recognized platforms or streaming services. It should meet the industry standard of 16-bit, 44.1 kHz rates. Each submitted song must have proper metadata credits and International Standard Recording Codes (ISRCs) for tracking and identification purposes.
  • Original Material: Starting with the 2024 CMA, an album must contain more than 75% newly recorded material, meaning recordings made within five years of the release date.
